Help More

Want to do more to help? Instead of throwing away the coupons that you get with the Sunday paper, cut them out and send them to us. We will add them to the package of coupons we are already sending to provide these families with an even better opportunity to save when shopping. Here are a few tips:

Please only include coupons that can be used at grocery stores.

Please add up the value of the coupons and write it on a piece of paper so that we can easily add your amount to our totals.

You can also send the coupons directly to a military base of your choice if you prefer. Here are a couple of things to keep in mind:

Contact the military base before sending the coupons to ask if they have a specific preference of how they would like the coupons to be sent. As a general rule, most military bases will request that the coupons be neatly clipped (which you will also want to do to save on postal charges) and sorted into "food" and "non-food" categories. The "food" category should contain coupons for anything that humans would consume while the "non-food" category should be everything else (pet food coupons would be considered an "non-food" item).

Once the coupons have been separated, calculate the value of all the coupons in each of the two categories. Place the coupons from each category into a zip lock plastic bag so that they don't get wet on the trip and write the category and the combined dollar value of the coupons on the outside of the bag in permanent ink.

There are a number of postal options to mail the coupons to the bases. The least expensive is usually by "Parcel Post". Military bases do accept expired coupons up to six months, but if you chose to send the coupons by parcel post, make sure that the coupons have not been expired for more than two months. Parcel Post can take quite a long time to arrive to its destination and you want all the coupons to be of use to the military families.
